Welcome to Materniana. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to abide by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

1. Who We Are
Materniana is a virtual peer support platform for mothers. We offer free, non-clinical support groups, chat-based communities, and optional buddy matching – all grounded in shared experience, not professional services.

2. Who This Is For
Materniana is intended for adults (18+) who identify as mothers or are preparing for motherhood in any form – pregnancy, fertility, adoption, foster care, or other paths.

3. What This Is Not Materniana is not a replacement for therapy, medical care, or crisis intervention. Our groups are peer-led, not facilitated by licensed clinicians. See our Disclaimer for more details.

4. Community Expectations
To keep this space supportive, safe, and welcoming, all participants must agree to the following:

  • Be kind and supportive
  • No mom-shaming, judgment, or unsolicited advice
  • Respect confidentiality – what’s shared in groups stays in groups
  • Honor all backgrounds, identities, and parenting styles
  • Show up as you are – no perfection required

We reserve the right to remove any member who violates these expectations.

5. Your Responsibilities
You agree to:

  • Follow Materniana’s Community Guidelines
  • Use the platform for its intended purpose (peer support, not professional advice)
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect others’ privacy
  • Engage respectfully with facilitators, members, and volunteers
  • Refrain from harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior
  • Not post illegal, harmful, or inappropriate content

You are solely responsible for your participation and the choices you make.

6. Content + Intellectual Property
All Materniana branding, group materials, training content, platform structure, and digital assets are the intellectual property of Materniana. You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute these materials without written permission.

7. Platform Access + Changes
We may modify or discontinue parts of the platform at any time, with or without notice. Continued use of Materniana after updates to these Terms means you accept the revised terms.

8. Limitation of Liability
Materniana is not liable for:

  • Emotional distress, misunderstandings, or personal harm resulting from participation
  • Any actions taken by peer group members or facilitators
  • Technical issues, outages, or interruptions in access
  • User-generated content or external links

Participation is voluntary and at your own discretion.

9. Termination of Use
We reserve the right to suspend or remove users who violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines – especially in cases of harm, bullying, or breach of confidentiality.
